Road to the Core

"Your late, advisor," Grand Admiral broke the three minute silence that had stood over the room when economy advisor Latre Jorn had entered, fifteen minutes behind schedule.
"I’m terribly sorry, sir, please accept my deepest apologies," Jorn replied. He could think of a dozen excuses, but he knew that none of them would fly with Grand Admiral Pellaeon and Supreme Commander Tann in the room.
"Well, advisor, what is it that you had that was so important as to use fifteen minutes of the time of the top commanders of the Empire’s armed forces?" Tann asked coldly, her red eyes narrowed into tight slits. "This empire is built on order, and part of order is being on time. You are to be demoted one grade, two grades if you do not have some significant contribution to our war effort at this meeting. Is that understood?"
"Perfectly, your Excellency," the trembling advisor said, as clearly as he could, his mind spinning trying to think of ideas that would satisfy the Sith lady and keep him in some semblance of a respectable position.
"We called you here, advisor, to aid us in the selection of a suitable next target world for our offensive," Pellaeon turned the conversation back to the business of war. "We need your opinion on what planet would be most useful to the Imperial economy and resource caches."
"Well, sir, in my humble opinion, the empire needs cash more than anything. We need to be able to maintain our financial situation, and the expenditures on Quantum Armor have been particularly draining on the Imperial treasury," Jorn offered.
"Well, any suggestions on where to attack for the necessary money?" Tann demanded.
"Well, uh, I would recommend Munilinst but is already ours. In this case, Neimoidia is probably your best bet," he replied.
"Thank you advisor, if that is all, you are dismissed. Your grade change will be effective tomorrow morning," Pellaeon sent him away with a slight wave of his hand. "Now, General Tann, what do you think? I am of the opinion that Kessel is a reasonable target. Lightly guarded, and with a fortune to be made in spice exports."
"A good idea, Admiral. In fact, I think that a double assault on Kessel and Neimoidia will probably be possible. The Neimoidians are cowards who will give us whatever we want, provided we show up with an impressive force," Tann answered Pellaeon’s question.
"Excellent, General Tann. And while we are doing complex offensives, we may as well pick up a base for our core offensive," Pellaeon said thoughtfully. "But where would we want to make our base?"
"I have one for you, Admiral: Kashyyyk," Tann said.
"Kashyyyk, yes, I like the idea. Large, in a perfect location, the only problem is that the Wookies will put up a fight," Pellaeon answered.
"The Wookies cannot pierce Quantum Armor, and I have the perfect plan to take the planet. We leave the whole thing up to droids. They can make camps in the lower regions of Kashyyyk. The ecology is deadly for living beings, but not for our droids," Tann explained her plan of attack.
"Yes, I like that idea. We can send Admiral Kirkosh to blockade the planet and let the droids do the rest. I will take part of the fleet and attack Kessel. You take the rest to Neimoidia," Pellaeon laid out the Imperial plan of attack.
"Yes, now we just need to check it with our oracle, then we can make our move," Tann concluded the meeting. Both of them exited the room, Pellaeon to prepare the fleet for war and Tann to see the future through the mind of her personal oracle, Lyth Aria.

Pretty good, but I am sure that a Jedi could venture below the levels that the Wookies won't go to .

And one other thing, Quantum armor cannot cover the entire droid . Sensors, such as visual and long range, must be un-covered .

And you know, I will make the Wookies put up a good defense . You will lose a lot of droids and all living troopers that go in .

Nothing personal, I just like the thought of Wookies beating up on droids . They can defeat them without their bowcasters . Ever hear of a really long drop , ending with a tree branch to the midsection ?

hold on, I'll write the abttle but yes the droids will have a struggle. It actually will be something else that turns the battle on Kashyyyk

I'll write an excerpt tha should have gone in, with Wookies kicking droid butt .

As for sensors, because of the nature of Quantum Armor they can function with it over them

Posted by: Jarlath at August 9, 2004 08:28 PM

That's not fair . Even in the old days, knights had a weakness of their eyes, having to be uncovered for them to see . An exceptional markman could take them out with a arrow . Please, make them where they just have sheilds over their sensors at least .

Sorry, just in the nature of the armor, but I'd have to get all scientific on you to actually explain it.

Posted by: Jarlath at August 12, 2004 08:05 AM

Well give me a weakness then . The Wookies will have to have a way to destroy them beyond tossing them out of a huge tree .

Hows this one: Not all the droids have quantum armor. My next entry will include Tann letting an Arrogant commander take his troops to the surface. Then the Wookies can begin.......
