A smooth downswing and a lightning fast left sweep finished the routine. Deena returned to the exact poised position she had started in: feet turned to the left and both arms at forty five degree angles to her body, broadsword tip two inches above the floor.
The only way a casual observer could tell that the last two hours had been an intensive sword form/practice would be from her heavier breathing and light sweat on her forehead.
Deena stood like this, eyes half closed, for a few minuets and then sheathed her sword with a sigh.
It had helped, but she was still angry.
I’ll sure feel this one in the morning. She smiled wryly. Oh well it was worth it.She slid into a chair and propped her feet on the table. Stretching out in the force she checked the status of her ship, Darkfire. All systems clear and in working order. Good. That little brush with the mad Sith “master” had put her in a foul mood: and not in any state to mess with a finiky ship.
Her master, Foth Urr, had died recently. Although he was not a strong master, using his cunning rather than raw force power, Foth had taught Deena well. Yet even a dark Jedi Master can only fight off disease so well, he’d succumbed to the Eis Plague three months ago. It was a bitter loss to Deena: they had been close. Although she was nearly equal to Urr, he had insisted she was destined for greater power and must seek out training from a “rising Master”.
Every “rising Master” she’d dealt with was not worth her time.
The one called Slintronious might have been, at the height of his power, but his apprentice had put the old dotard to shame.
The apprentice, Rit, or whatever, was some sort of mutant. Deena didn’t trust mutants. Never have, never will.
And this Dagmar was obviously mad. Powerful, yes, but absolutely mad. Deena had no patience with madmen.
So now she had a choice.
She could either re-enter the empire, seeing if she could trace the rumors of the famed Sev’rance Tann (taking the gamble on not being recognized) or she would have continue on her own.
Neither option appealed to her.
